MetLife Auto & Home® Flood Insurance

Floods and flash floods could occur anytime, anywhere and not everyone knows their standard homeowners policies don’t cover water damage caused by flooding. MetLife Auto & Home® sells  flood insurance as part of the National Flood Insurance Program, sponsored by the federal government.

To learn more, review the NFIP Manual. There are upcoming changes effective October 1, 2013.

Unlike a standard homeowners policy, flood insurance covers losses to your property caused by flooding. Some of the things a standard flood policy will cover include:*

  • structural damage
  • furnace, water heater, and air conditioner
  • flood debris clean up
  • floor surfaces, such as carpeting and tile

Flood insurance can also cover* the contents of your home, such as furniture, collectibles, clothing, jewelry, and artwork.

Policies are available in three forms: Dwelling (most homes), General Property (apartments and businesses), and Residential Condominium Building Association (condominiums).

*See policy for restrictions. In the event of a conflict between this information and the policy, the policy prevails
